Minnesota-Cuba Health Partnership
The Minnesota Public Health Association and the Cuban Society of Public Health through its chapter in the Province of Villa Clara have signed a Memorandum of Understanding a twining (“hermanamientos”) relationship for professional exchange and continuing education. The MPHA conference in May, 2016 featured the visit and presentations by Marilyn Hernandez the current President of the Villa Clara Chapter of the Cuban Society of Public Health.
University of Minnesota School of Public Health faculty have begun to carry out joint research projects with the National School of Public Health of Cuba located in Havana. During the trip, it is expected that the University of Minnesota School of Public Health will be able to plan for the development of future opportunities with the National School of Public Health of Cuba and also with the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara.
